By adding highlights, your team can jump right to those key moments in both the video player and the transcript

How to create a new highlight

Here’s how to add a highlight to your video:

  1. Select the part of the transcript that you want to highlight.

  2. Click the highlight button that appears above the transcript selection.

How to edit your highlight's title

When you create a highlight, we use AI to automatically generate a title based on the transcript text that you've highlighted. These titles make it easier for your teammates to find and watch the moments that are most relevant to them.

Here's how to edit the highlight title:

  1. Click on the highlight indicator in the transcript, or find the highlight in the "Comments" tab of the video page

  2. Click on the three dotted menu to the right of the highlight title

  3. Select the Edit title option to edit and save a new. title

How to generate and regenerate a title for your highlight

You can manually generate a title for highlights that were made before we started automatically creating them. This is also how you can regenerate a title if the AI didn't get it quite right.

Here's how to generate (or regenerate) a highlight title:

  1. Click on the highlight indicator in the transcript, or find the highlight in the "Comments" tab of the video page

  2. Click on the three dotted menu to the right of the highlight title

  3. Select the Regenerate title option to generate a new. title

How to share your highlight

Want to share a specific highlight on a video? Here’s how you can link directly to a highlighted section:

  1. Click on the highlight indicator in the transcript, or find the highlight in the "Comments" tab of the video page

  2. Click on the three dotted menu to the right of the highlight title

  3. Select the Copy link option to copy the highlight's link

Now, when you share the link, people with access to the video will begin playback starting at the highlight.

How to delete your highlight

Here's how you can delete a highlight:

  1. Click on the highlight indicator in the transcript, or find the highlight in the "Comments" tab of the video page

  2. Click on the three dotted menu to the right of the highlight title

  3. Select the Delete option to delete the highlight.

Deleting a highlight will all delete any comments in the highlight's thread. Be careful, this action cannot be undone.

How to disable highlights on your video

By default, everyone in your channel can add highlights to your videos. But, sometimes, you might want a little more control over your videos.


Here’s how you can disable highlights on your videos:

  1. Select three-dotted menu at the top right of the page for the video you’d like to disable highlights on.

  2. In the drop-down list, click Edit details.

  3. On the right hand side, find the options under "Collaboration and annotations"

  4. Uncheck the box for Allow highlighting.

Note: If you’re a member, you can only disable highlights for the videos that you upload. If you’re an admin, you can disable highlights for any videos in your channel.
