Monitor activity in your channel with audit logs

The audit log records activity in your channel so that you can review it later.

Audit logs provide a record of the actions that members and guests are taking in your channel. The information listed in the Audit logs can be used to help protect your organization from suspicious activity and comply with external regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Audit log events

Rewatch records the following events for every user in your channel:

  • Video added

  • Video deleted

  • Video deleted via retention policy

  • Collection created

  • Collection deleted

  • Comment created

  • Comment removed

  • Member created

  • Member deactivated

  • Member given Admin access

  • Video external sharing enabled

  • Video embedding enabled

  • Video downloaded

  • Video shared externally via email

  • Video transcript edited

Every event added to the audit log will include the name of the event, the user’s name and email, IP address, geolocation, and the date and time the event occurred.

View the audit log

Channel admins can access the audit log from the Admin Console. Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to the Admin console in the left sidebar.

  2. Click Audit log in the left-hand navigation menu.

Filter the audit log

The audit log offers search and filter capabilities that allow the channel admin to filter by email, IP address, or date. To filter by email or IP address, use the search bar at the top of the page. To filter by date, click the drop-down menu on the right-hand side.

Alternatively, you can click on the user’s name or IP address for any event, and the audit will automatically be filtered based on your selection.
