With Rewatch, your team can communicate and collaborate in the languages they prefer. Rewatch currently supports automatic transcription and on-demand translation in 31 languages.

You can change your channel’s default language from English to any of our supported languages. When you change your default language, all the videos in your channel will be automatically transcribed in the selected language. 

Here’s how to set your channel’s default language:

Navigate to the <code>Admin console</code> at the bottom of the left sidebar. 

Click <code>Transcript settings</code> in the lefthand navigation. 

Under <code>Default language</code>, select the language you want.

4. Click <code>Save changes</code>.

Set the transcription language for a video

If the audio in your video is in a different language than your channel’s default language, you can manually update the video’s language. Updating the video’s language will transcribe, or re-transcribe, the video in your selected language. 

Here’s how to set the transcription language for a video:

On the video page, click the <code>•••</code> button for more options.

Under <code>Language</code>, select the language being spoken.

Click <code>Save</code> to update your video.

Translate a video into a different language

If you want to read the video transcript or subtitles in a different language than the one being spoken, you can translate the video on demand. 

Here’s how to translate the video transcript:

Find the language setting on the righthand side.

Select the language you want to read the transcript in.

1. Navigate to the video page.

Here’s how to translate the video subtitles:

On the video player, click the <code>CC</code> button. 

Select the language you want to read the subtitles in.
