Inviting guests for external collaboration

Securely collaborate with people external to your organization, such as clients or contractors.

Guests have limited access to your channel. Unlike regular members, guests only have access to specific collections they are invited to.

Inviting a new guest

If you’re an Admin, here’s how you can invite a guest to one of your collections:

  1. Click the Admin console link at the bottom of the lefthand navigation.

  2. Click on the Members link in the lefthand navigation.

  3. Click the Invite member button on the right side of the page.

  4. Enter your guest’s email.

  5. Select the Guest role and choose a collection to give the guest access to.

  6. Click Invite to send an invitation to their email.

Understanding guest permissions

Guests can only be granted access to collections. Here’s what guests can and can’t do:

  • Guests can view videos inside collections they’re been added to.

  • Guests can view and comment on videos inside the collection they’ve been added to.

  • Guests can upload new videos to collections they’re been added to.

  • Guests cannot access any videos outside of the collections they’ve been added to.

  • Guests can create highlights on videos inside the collections they’re been added to.

  • Guest can sync a recurring meeting

Guests' ability to upload videos can be disabled by channel admins.

Here’s how to configure guests' video upload settings:

  1. Click the Admin console link at the bottom of the lefthand navigation.

  2. Click on the Permission settings link in the lefthand navigation.

  3. Make changes to the Can guests upload videos and add them to collections? section

  4. Click Save changes

Guests' ability to record meetings can be disabled by channel admins.

Here’s how to configure guests' record meetings settings:

  1. Click the Admin console link at the bottom of the lefthand navigation.

  2. Click on the Permission settings link in the lefthand navigation.

  3. Make changes to the Can guests record meetings? setting

  4. Click Save changes
